Where they differ

Where they are alike
Neither city is a heritage destination on any scale. Monaco has more museums, Como fewer and more tightly clustered, but in both the collections are small and close to the centre, an afternoon rather than a reason to travel.

Monaco's beach strength counts 50 beaches nearby rather than within the principality, and they are at their best in exactly the two months when everyone else arrives. Como's warmest months are among its wettest, near 158mm each, so its strongest summer does not mean dry days on the water.
When should you go?

Como's peak is July and August at 27°C, but rain runs near 158mm in both, and spring is wetter still. Its driest months come in winter, at 61-69mm, when highs are only 7-9°C.
