Where they differ

Where they are alike

The daily budget figures are national price levels for restaurants and hotels, €160 and €122, not measurements of Bordeaux or San Sebastian. A much-visited city can sit well away from its country's average, by more than the gap between these two, so treat them as background, not as a price comparison.
San Sebastian's beach strength is compressed into a short season: the sea reaches 21°C or more in only two months, and rain stays heavy all year, so the warm swimming weeks coincide with the busiest ones. Bordeaux's family attractions are counted near the centre, which says where they are, not how good they are.
