Where they differ
Geneva puts water and parkland close to hand: 43 beaches nearby against Milan's 4, and more park space near the centre. Its restaurants also cover a much wider range of kitchens.
Milan is the stronger city for looking at things: about twice as many museums, grouped more tightly around the centre, and 4 UNESCO-listed places within day-trip reach against 2. What the numbers don't tell you
The daily budget figure is a national estimate of restaurant and hotel prices, €248 for Switzerland and €155 for Italy, not a measurement of either city. A heavily visited city can sit further from its country's average than these two figures sit apart, so treat it as background, not as your trip cost.
Beach counts flatter Geneva: neither city has a month of sea at 21°C or more, so swimming is a short summer window, not a season. Rain works the same way, with neither city getting a month at 40mm or less, so the warmest months are not the driest.

Milan is the warmer choice either side of summer, 15°C in March, and its winters are drier, 44-54mm in January and February against 55-71mm. Peak summer is hotter there, 29°C in July, but its autumn is the wettest stretch of its year.
