Where they differ

Where they are alike

Eating out is where they match most closely. Both have a similar number of restaurants near the centre and a similar spread of kitchens, so neither city decides the trip on that count.

The Hague's beach advantage is about access rather than swimming: the sea never reaches 21°C, and the months when it is warmest are also the wettest, near 85mm. Ghent's compactness cuts both ways too, since the attractions that sit close to the centre are the ones everyone else walks to as well.
