Where they differ
Innsbruck is the stronger base for time outdoors close to town: 31% of the land around it is protected against 19% around Interlaken, with far more park space near the centre. For families it has about twice as many attractions nearby and 2 theme parks within reach, where Interlaken has none. Its bars and clubs outnumber Interlaken's many times over.
Interlaken's case is narrower but real: 2 UNESCO-listed places sit within day-trip reach against Innsbruck's 1, and rain falls more thinly, with three months at 40mm or less against one.
Where they are alike
Neither is a swimming destination. Both are inland, with lake shores rather than coast: Interlaken counts 12 beaches nearby and Innsbruck 10, and neither has water at 21°C or more in any month.
Their weather runs on the same rhythm, cold winters and a peak that is mild rather than hot. Eating out is closer than the rest of the comparison: Innsbruck has the wider spread of kitchens, but both work at a small-town scale.

What the numbers don't tell you
The daily figures of €160 and €248 are national price levels for the two countries, not measurements of either town. A heavily visited mountain resort can sit well above its own country's average, by more than the gap between the two figures, so neither number tells you what a week in Innsbruck or Interlaken will cost.
No weather station near Interlaken records sunshine hours, so that figure is missing rather than low, and its monthly picture rests on temperature and rainfall alone. The beach counts, likewise, describe lake shores in places with no month of water at 21°C or more.

Interlaken is the better bet in high summer, where the difference is rain rather than heat. July and August sit at 24°C and 23°C with 62mm and 61mm against Innsbruck's 129mm and 144mm, so afternoons on the trails are more reliably dry.
