Where they differ
Munich has about three times as many notable places within walking distance of the centre, and about three times as many bars and clubs, so both the sightseeing and the evenings are denser. It also has roughly twice as many restaurants near the centre, more attractions and far more park space, which counts with children.
Nuremberg's strength lies outside the city: 42% of the land around it is protected, against 17% around Munich. It has fewer bars and clubs, but most of them sit near the centre.
Where they are alike
Neither is a swimming destination. Both have 6 beaches nearby, and in neither does the water reach 21°C in any month, so a swim is an occasional summer extra rather than a reason to travel.
Their countryside offering comes out close as well, arranged differently: protected land around Nuremberg, park space near Munich's centre. Year-round weather is similar too, both running daytime highs of about 4-25°C, with the difference showing up in rainfall rather than temperature.
Which traveller are you?
A traveller doing a city on foot should take Munich: about three times as many notable places within walking distance of the centre, more museums, and those museums grouped more tightly, so less time goes on getting between them.

Anyone treating the city as a base for countryside days should look at Nuremberg, where 42% of the surrounding land is protected and a smaller centre keeps eating and drinking close together after a day out.
What the numbers don't tell you
The value comparison between these two carries no information: it is a national price level, identical for both by construction, so neither is the cheaper trip on this evidence. The €163 daily figure beside it is one national estimate rather than a measurement of Munich or Nuremberg.
Munich's best-rated months are also its wettest, 107-121mm through the summer, so warm does not mean dry there. Its nightlife lead is spread across a much larger city, with only about half of it near the centre, and while both list beaches nearby, neither has water reaching 21°C.
When should you go?

Munich is warmest in July and August at 25°C, but that is also its wettest stretch, above 110mm a month from May onwards. September, at 20°C and 78mm, is the steadier choice.
Nuremberg is just as warm at the height of summer, 25°C, on roughly half the rainfall, which makes it the better bet for walking days in high season. It also stays drier through winter and early spring, with four months at 40mm or less, so an off-season trip is less likely to be washed out.
