Where they are alike

What the numbers don't tell you

The daily budget figures are national estimates of restaurant and hotel price levels, €104 for Hungary and €138 for Croatia, not measurements of Budapest or Zadar. A capital and a heavily visited coastal town can each sit a long way from their country's average, by more than the gap between the two numbers, so read them as background rather than as what your trip will cost.

No weather station near Zadar records sunshine hours, so that figure is missing rather than low, and Zadar's monthly picture rests on temperature, rainfall and sea temperature alone. Its driest, hottest months are also the ones when its beaches are most in demand.
