Where they differ

What the numbers don't tell you
The value comparison here carries no information: it is a national price level, identical for both by construction, and the €155 a day beside it is one national estimate rather than a measurement of either place. Neither can be called the cheaper trip on this data.
Sorrento's beaches only work for part of the year, with the sea at 14-16°C through much of the first half, and its strongest months are the narrow summer window when most people travel. Florence's high summer is dry but hits 33°C, hard work on foot, while its wettest autumn months still rate well because its sights are indoors.
