Where they differ
Sorrento is the swimming trip: 78 beaches nearby where Turin has 1, and five months of sea at 21°C or more, which Turin has none of.
Turin is the city trip. It has many times as many restaurants near the centre and a far wider range of kitchens, many times as many museums, grouped tightly around the middle, and many more notable places within walking distance. Families get far more attractions and park space close in, though the one theme park within reach is Sorrento's.
Where they are alike
The two sit at the same price level because that figure is a national one, applied to both. It ranks the country, not one city against the other, so it says nothing about which trip costs less.
