Where they differ

What the numbers don't tell you
The daily budget figures, €132 and €133, are national price levels for restaurants and hotels rather than measurements of either city. A much-visited city can sit far from its country's average, by more than the gap between these two numbers, so they say nothing about which trip costs more.
No weather station near Krakow records sunshine hours, so that side of the comparison is unmeasured rather than poor; its monthly picture rests on temperature and rainfall alone. Bratislava's warmest months are also among its wettest, with May to August each carrying 70mm or more, so heat and dry weather do not arrive together.
