Where they differ

What the numbers don't tell you
The daily budget figures, €163 and €155, are national price levels for restaurants and hotels, not measurements of either city. A heavily visited city can sit well above its own country's average, by more than the gap between the two, so neither number tells you which trip will cost more.
Venice's strengths land in the same weeks: the sea is warmest in August, which is also when the walkable core is busiest, and everything being close together means everyone is in the same streets. Stuttgart's warmest months are its wettest, at 77-79mm, so warmth and dry days do not arrive together.
