Where they differ
Cadiz has 29 beaches nearby where Granada has none, and three months when the sea sits at 21°C or more, peaking at 23°C in August. That gives it a swimming season Granada cannot offer at any point in the year.
Granada has about three times as many restaurants near the centre and a much wider range of kitchens. It also has far more open country: 27% of the land around it is protected against 4% around Cadiz, with roughly twice as much park space near the centre.
Where they are alike
Families come out much the same in both. Cadiz has somewhat more tourist attractions near the centre, Granada about twice as much park space, and neither has a theme park within reach.
Both are reliably sunny, over 3000 hours a year each, and both are effectively rainless in July at 0mm. Each has a walkable core of museums and older buildings, denser in Granada, which also has one UNESCO-listed place within day-trip reach.
Which traveller are you?
If you are going for the water, Cadiz is the only option of the two: 29 beaches, and sea warm enough to swim in through the late summer, reaching 23°C. Granada has no coast and no swimming season at all.
If your evenings matter, Granada: about three times as many places to drink and many times as many nightclubs, most of them near the centre, plus three times the restaurants and a wider spread of kitchens.
Walkers and day-trippers should also pick Granada: 27% of the surrounding land is protected, park space near the centre is roughly double, and there are about twice as many notable places within walking distance.
What the numbers don't tell you
The value comparison between these two carries no information: it is a national price level, identical for both by construction, and the €122 a day beside it is one national estimate rather than a measurement of either city. Nothing here shows one to be cheaper than the other.
Cadiz's coastal advantage is narrower than it first looks: the sea only reaches 21°C or more for three months, and those are the months when everyone else travels too. Granada's year-round weather figure averages away real extremes, July highs of 35°C at one end and 13°C in January at the other.
When should you go?

Cadiz is the stronger pick from June to September, when highs hold at 26-28°C, the sea climbs to 23°C, and July and August are all but rainless at 0-2mm. The autumn is the catch: October and November bring 76-89mm, the wettest stretch of its year.
Granada is the better call in May and September, with highs of 25-29°C. Its autumn stays drier than Cadiz's, at 45mm in October, while July, at 35°C, is hard going outdoors.
